SERVICES
The Sacraments
Sacrament of Baptism
Infant Baptisms. Parents are required to attend Baptismal Preparation class and interview on the first Monday night of the month (if a holiday, then class is on the second Monday) at 7pm. (If the first Monday falls on a holiday, then the class is held on the second Monday.) All classes are held at the Parish Office. Baptisms are scheduled at that meeting.
Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)
Saturday: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by appointment with a priest.
Sacrament of Marriage
An appointment should be made with a priest at least four months before the proposed date and before any other plans are finalized. The usual preparation for our Diocese includes participation in the Engaged Encounter Weekend.
Sacrament of the Sick
Communal Anointing. Last Saturday of each month at the 12 noon mass.
Individual Anointing. At home or prior to a hospital stay, call the Parish Office. In the hospital, in an emergency, ask hospital staff to contact the priest on call in that hospital.
Other Services
Book of Prayerful Intentions
The names of the sick of our parish may be placed on the weekly intention list to be remembered in the prayers of our parishioners by calling the Parish Office by noon every Friday. A new list is printed in the parish bulletin each week.
Funeral Reception Assistance
Volunteers will assist bereaved families who wish to serve refreshments during wakes held at the Church. Requests for this assistance should be made at the time funeral arrangements are made with the Parish Office.
Funerals
Please contact the parish office and the mortuary of your choice so that plans may be made with mutual consultation.
Home Visits
Shut-ins living in the parish and wishing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Anointing, and Communion should notify the Parish Office.
Hospital Visits
Parishioners hospitalized in the Honolulu area are visited by priests and Eucharistic Ministers assigned to the various hospitals. However, should a patient wish to see a parish priest, a family member should notify the parish and a visit(s) will be scheduled whenever possible.
Mass Intentions
Mass intentions may be requested through the use of Mass Intention envelopes found at the rear of the church or by contacting the Parish Office and requesting the intentino. If the envelopes are used, the necessary information should be provided and the envelopes should be turned in to the secretary or sacristan three days before the mass. Memorial cards are available in the Parish Office. [DO NOT PUT MASS INTENTION REQUESTS IN THE COLLECTION BASKET.]
