Dear Parishioners, Benefactors, and Friends,
We would like to thank you for all you have done for Sts. Peter and Paul. Through your sacrificial giving to our Capital Campaign, you bring a new vitality and hope for our community’s future and its generations to come.
We wish to acknowledge and thank the many who volunteered their time and talents to work on the campaign and helped create and develop plans for the church’s use of the 771 Amana Street building and property.
We wish to inform you of the status of our fundraising efforts and achievements. Upon payment of the loans outstanding for this additional property, the ownership of the Amana Street building will allow us more latitude to enhance and expand parish ministries and community programs.
We will provide updates periodically of our plans for the Amana building and our progress on the capital campaign. We sincerely urge you to read the articles in this newsletter (see tab above) and contact us at [email protected] for questions or concerns you may have.
In future newsletters, we will share news of specific programs for the Amana Street Facilities within the following guiding principles for both church members and the community at large:
Blessings,
Fr. Khanh
Acquisition of the property presents many possibilities for Saints Peter and Paul Church and the community. Plans will likely call for the building to house church programs combined with leased space for community support programs and businesses.
Campaign Launch: October 2019
Our Shaping the Future Capital Campaign and the Oversight Committees have worked diligently to lay the groundwork for bringing to our parishioners, benefactors, and potential donors an inspiring vision of our future, supported by facts, which help engage in fundraising efforts with confidence.
From the roll out of our public phase which began with our Pledge Sunday in October 2019, we found ourselves in just ten short weeks, closing out the year by surpassing the initial milestone with over $1 million in pledges and donations, which contributed to achieving our first phase goal.
Capital Campaign Continues with Phase II
Phase II of our Capital Campaign launched in April 2023 with the goal of raising the remaining $2.8 million (see Financial report on page 3 of April 2023 Highlights Newsletter).

God, our Father in heaven and Creator of all,
With grateful hearts for all you have bestowed on our ‘Ohana at Saints Peter and Paul in these last 50 years,
and with great anticipation for what is yet to be, we turn to You, O Lord, as our ancestors did.Bless us anew with a caring heart, and a willing spirit to build upon the legacy of those who have come
and gone from us over the years, and continue being “soul of the new Honolulu.”As You have been the source of our being, and our strength in the past, now we ask You to secure our future,
that we each will be able to make sacrifices necessary so to grow as a caring parish family.May we remain one in You and may this campaign be a blessing to all of our Parishioners, Visitors and Friends,
and shaping our future for generations to come.We pray with the help of Saints Peter and Paul, Saint Damien and Saint Marianne,
and the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary and Saint Joseph, patron of the Universal Church.Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
